- Carol Kocivar, past President of the California State PTA, has been involved in campaigns to improve education funding at both the state and local levels for over twenty years.
- Nancy Krop, past Director of Legislation for the Sixth District PTA, advocates to restore public schools to the top performing, top funded schools California enjoyed a generation ago.
- Phil Ting, Assemblyman 19th District, was a leader in the effort to change how K-12 schools are funded, through what is now called the Local Control Funding Formula.
